On the afternoon of November 4, Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf and his wife paid a special visit to the local residents of Balakot which was seriously hit during the earthquake and visited the mobile hospital of China International Search and Rescue Team (CISAR). It is the only foreign rescue team President Musharraf and his wife visited in Balakot. Musharraf made highly positive remarks on the performance of CISAR, saying that "on behalf of the Pakistani people and in my own name I thank the Chinese government and people for your help to us and especially to the disaster-hit people. CISAR comes from afar and brings about advanced medical equipment and skillful doctors to us. The Pakistani people will always remember the friendship of the Chinese people."

Zhao Heping, head of CISAR, on behalf of the 41 members of his team, extended welcome to President Musharraf and his wife. He said that China and Pakistan are good neighbors and friends. After the earthquake that rocked Pakistan the Chinese government and people are deeply concerned about the people in the disaster-hit areas and hope to provide them with as much help as possible.

CISAR sees that under the leadership of the Pakistani government and army the disaster relief efforts in Pakistan have made great headways and in the process CISAR also established and reinforced friendship with the local government and army, added Zhao. The visit of President Musharraf greatly encourages all the members of CISAR and the team will continue doing its best to provide rescue and medical support.

Musharraf and his wife granted pension to the Pakistani residents receiving medical treatment in the mobile hospital and presented food to CISAR to celebrate Id al-Fitr. CISAR sent its flag as a gift to President Musharraf. Musharraf also met with representatives of some international organizations and rescue teams of other countries in the mobile hospital of CISAR.
